February 8, 2015 Bracketology

Hello Everyone for a couple of weeks I have been using my formula to track the teams and now that we are closing in on Selection Sunday I will be posting my S Curve on the blog along with the actual bracket in a couple of weeks. Also, I am going to start up the daily bubble games again with additional posts about specific teams and why their profiles may be better or worse than the public perceives them to be.  I am using the same ranking system I developed several years ago to rank the teams initially so I can get a better understanding of what each teams resume actually consists of.  I have found my method of assigning numerical values to each team based on their quality wins, road wins, bad losses, etc.. allows me to have a truer sense of what each teams profile is.  I will say the system I use is not the end all be all of how I rank the teams but rather it is just an extra tool that helps me organize the teams to figure out the overall profile of each university so that I do not fall into the general impression of a team that may not be true.  Often when the committee releases the actual bracket certain teams are seeded considerably higher or lower than the public perceives their value to be.  With my system I am hoping to eliminate most of the inconsistencies that come with the "eye test" and focus on every teams profile versus each other team in depth.  Thank you for visiting my blog and now to my first S Curve of the year:
